Here are pictures of our troops patrolling in rugged Afghanistan.

Send them a package of things they need and let them know we support  them. It's easy, inexpensive, and will bless these men and women who are sacrificing to protect us in this war against terror.

Let's share our  blessings with these very special men and women!

*** 15 June *** Please note that addresses have again been updated. There are now two (2) Marine addresses listed.

30 July 2010 - The July 3/1 Marines Newsletter and pictures from Afghanistan have been posted under "News from Troops".

Here's a quote from SgtMaj Samuels,"We all take freedom for granted: I don't think for the Thundering Third that is an issue. Your fine warriors are fully dedicated and focused men that are willing to face personnel danger so that others can have a chance at a better life. This is truly the epitome of unselfishness..."

Read this Newsletter to meet these warriors first-hand & understand the amazing, tough work they're doing in this war against terror! We can be very proud of them & see the need for our support!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3/1 Chaplain Louis Lee has advised they are short of and need supplies! See his recent letter & pictures under "Feedback..."

Please notice that temperatures in Afghanistan are now over 125 degrees and send boxes accordingly.

See pictures of the Troops opening boxes sent from home. We're hearing so often how much these boxes mean to our homesick men & women! Let's remember to regularly send them.

We can use some financial help to ship the boxes recently brought in through special drives. Although individuals sending boxes generally pay shipping charges directly, MOAS picks up shipping for these special drives, as an incentive for support.

Due to the wonderful success of these special drives, MOAS has expended several thousand dollars to cover shipping. So, we're asking for your help to replenish these funds. See the "Information Memo", to the left, for details of where to mail these tax-deductible donations. Thank you in advance for your help to S-O-T!

See how RBC Centura Bank, Fruitville Branch, initiated an SOT drive that yielded 40 boxes for the troops (go to Conduct a Drive, left).

You can help by asking your bank to conduct an SOT drive!

*** IMPORTANT! On the Customs Form, always check "Treat As Abandoned", under Item 10 - "If Non-deliverable". This should prevent the box being returned if the Unit has changed address. Hopefully, it will be distributed to another Unit.

See special letters in "Feedback Fm Troops".  Please send us "Feedback" you receive, so we can post it as an encouragement to send boxes!

Please consider "networking" to encourage SOT support. We all    belong to Associations, churches, Bible studies, organizations,    clubs, homeowner's groups, etc. Your Bank will often conduct a drive! Consider mentioning the needs of our troops and ask for help. It's good to have downloaded and hand out an SOT Flier, left, for concrete info. And, family members will often come aboard and help. It's important that we regularly look for ways to expand the SOT base of support; the need is urgent.

Please consider setting up an S-O-T Display in your foyer, such

as the one at the MOAS Luncheon, and at churches such as Covenant

Life Presbyterian Church, as shown on the S-O-T Display page. It simply

consists on an S-O-T Display Board, information sheets, Priority Mail

boxes and labels. This will be a big help, by making resources easily available to participating church members. (Addresses of church members within the war zone should be included.)

And we'll be happy to help you set it up. Many thanks!

 THEY'VE ASKED FOR OUR PRAYERS

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them  as they protect

us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they  perform for us

in our time of need. Amen."
